A late-season culinary apple of vigorous growth with pea-green skin, greenish crisp acid flesh, and closed eye in a shallow wrinkled basin. Imported into England at the end of the eighteenth century, it keeps a year or more and cooks excellently, making it a valuable late-season cooking fruit.
