A valuable dessert apple of above-medium size with yellow and russeted skin and bright red striped patches on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is firm, crisp, juicy, and highly aromatic. In use from October to Christmas, and widely cultivated as a first-rate quality variety in the UK (1851).
