Cooper is a large, attractive yellow apple with red streaks, offering a mild subacid to nearly sweet flavor. Developed in Connecticut, it was introduced to Ohio in 1796 where it gained local esteem, but never achieved widespread cultivation and is now largely unknown to New York growers.
