A large, ovate apple with deep yellow skin and orange tinge on the sun-exposed side, featuring yellow, tender, crisp flesh with rich, sugary, brisk, and aromatic flavor. Raised by T. A. Knight in 1811, it is equally valued as a dessert and culinary apple, in season September to October. The tree is hardy, healthy, and a free bearer, succeeding throughout the British Isles.
