Salome is a moderately sized apple, usually below medium with pale yellow to pinkish-red coloring. The flesh is firm, crisp, tender, and juicy with a sprightly, subacid flavor rated good to very good. The fruit stores well from November through March and is valued for its hardy, productive tree and firm fruit that handles well, though it has not been extensively planted in New York.
