A culinary apple raised by J. Stevens of Stanton-by-Dale before 1850, notable for its vigorous growth and fertility. The medium, round fruit is greenish-yellow almost covered with dull brown-crimson flush and blotches, with crisp, juicy, greenish-white sub-acid flesh. It keeps well into March and is described as a useful late keeper similar in appearance to Cellini.
