A very large, round-conical French culinary apple with pale yellow-green skin and a reddish flush. The white flesh contains greenish veins and is acid and firm; the fruit stores well through June. Raised around 1850 at the Horticultural Society of Angers in France and bearing characteristic features of vigorous, round-headed growth.
