An ancient Russian variety from Kursk that is exceptionally cold-hardy and popular at traditional dachas. With large yellow-green fruit that is very tart for fresh eating, Antonovka excels in cooking applications where it maintains its shape, and it's also used for cider production. The cultivar is uniquely propagated as a rootstock due to its deep taproot and vigorous, well-anchored growth suitable for extreme cold climates.
