Tobias is a yellow apple of medium size with fair to good quality. Hardy and reliable in cold climates, it bears fruit from November to April with a prime season in midwinter. Of limited commercial interest, it was largely confined to the Lake Champlain region and valued mainly for its hardiness in Northern New York.
