Loan's Pearmain is an old English dessert apple known since the seventeenth century, with greenish-yellow skin flushed with red stripes and slight russet. The flesh is crisp, greenish, and sugary, ripening November to January. By 1920, it was almost out of cultivation, representing a heritage variety of historical interest.
